The Need:The Oriental Count Hotel is a modern intelligent hotel that integrates guest rooms, dining, banquets, and entertainment. The hotel covers an area of 21.5 acres with a building area of 26000 square meters, offering 206 guest rooms, 20 private restaurants, 5 multifunctional halls, 1 Western restaurant, and 1 heated swimming pool. In the HVAC system planning of the hotel, it is planned to use a water system for central air conditioning to transport cold and heat through water circulation. At the same time, the water system is easy to combine with heat sources such as boilers, solar energy, and air energy to achieve comprehensive energy utilization. While reducing operating costs, it also conforms to the development trend of green and energy-saving in hotels, creating a comfortable, energy-saving, and efficient indoor environment for hotels.

The Challenge:

★The pipeline of the water system is long and has multiple branches, which can easily lead to uneven distribution of water flow between the near and end ends.

★The vertical pressure difference in high-rise hotels can cause excessive pressure on pipelines in lower areas.

Configuration:

★Air Conditioning: 2 sets of 920kw screw chillers (Dunham-Bush) + 2 sets of 350-ton cooling towers (Liang Chi) + 1 gas-fired boiler (Liwei)

★Hot Water: 4 sets of air-source heat pump units + 2 sets of 20-ton insulated water tanks

★Firstly, in the design phase, choose the same path system pipeline design to ensure balanced resistance. And install dynamic balance valves on the end return pipes of each layer. Vertically partition the system, and set up an independent circulation system every 10-15 floors in high-rise hotels to reduce the impact of static pressure.

★Adopting variable frequency water pump, the head is selected based on the most unfavorable loop resistance+20% margin.

★At the level of operation and maintenance, water systems are prone to scale formation and microbial growth. Regular water quality treatment and equipment cleaning and maintenance are essential, otherwise it will reduce system efficiency and shorten equipment life.
