Jet-Type Unit Selection
The design and selection of jet-type units mainly involve airflow distribution calculations. The conditioned air supplied by the unit should meet the following basic requirements:
- The cooled or heated air must reach the designated area.
- The cooling jet must not fall prematurely and cause discomfort to occupants.
- The heating jet must reach the required air-supply distance and target location.
- The air temperature at the end of the supply-air path must meet the design requirements.
When selecting and arranging multiple units, the interaction between adjacent units should also be considered. The diffusion width of the airflow is approximately 0.4 times the throw distance, so the spacing between units should be slightly smaller than the diffusion width.
When the unit is installed close to the ceiling, the ceiling-attachment effect should be considered. The throw distance of attached airflow is approximately 1.4 times that of free airflow.
